Microsoft has made it clear that those looking for an Xbox Portable should be taking a peek at their local cellphone shop.
"This is our mobile platform for games," Kevin Unangst, senior global director of PC and mobile gaming at Microsoft, told Kotaku as CES. "The same people who make the Halo game, the same development folks, work on this, this is our mobile console."
Games and Xbox Live integration has been one of the biggest draws of the new Windows phone 7 platform, with the top 10 paid applications dominated by Xbox Live games.
Kevin also revealed that Microsoft remained in discussion with Epic to bring their mobile Unreal Engine to Windows Phone 7. The company recently complained that they could not bring the mobile version of its engine to Windows Phone 7 due to lack of native access. Kevin however maintained the line, saying Epicâ€™s engine needed to work with Microsoftâ€™s XNA tools.
