Microsoft today updated the Bing app for iOS in the App Store. This updated v5.0.1 of this app comes with support for new iOS 8 features. Bing app now supports extensibility features such as Translation widget in Safari and Today widget in notification center. iOS 8 users can now translate the webpages opened in Safari with a single touch.
What’s New in Version 5.0.1:
•New iOS8 extensibility features: Translation widget in Safari and Today widget
•Bug fixes
Today Widget:
Set Bing Homepage Image and Trending Topics to iOS Today Screen
Swiping from the top on your iPhone brings up the Today screen, which can now host the beautiful image of the day and trending stories from the web. With this information available at a glance, we hope to save you time while informing you about what’s going on in the world. To enable this feature, tap ‘Edit’ on your Today screen and add Bing.
Translation Widget:
Whether you’re traveling in a foreign country or trying to brush up on second language skills, Bing Translator is now a few clicks away. To take advantage of this new feature, just tap the Share icon in the app, and click the Translate button.
To make this work in Safari, you need to manually add the Bing Translate button to your options
Download it here from App Store.
