Microsoft has scheduled a press event later today in SF to reveal information about its next version of productivity software, Office. Microsoft will also release a consumer preview version of Office which users can download and try on their machines. Microsoft Office 2013 is expected to have more refined ribbon menu which is optimized for touch and many new features in each of the separate products such as Word, Excel, etc,. Office 2013 will also feature a web based app platform which will allow 3rd party apps to run inside Office to enhance the productivity experience. You can read more about it here.
