Microsoft to release new editor for Outlook 2016 on Mac

Outlook Editor

Microsoft today announced that they are going to release a new editor in Outlook 2016 for Mac with enhanced formatting support. It will support resizing and formatting of pictures while composing the message. When you insert a picture in an email message, you’ll notice the new resize and rotation handles. You can use these to resize or rotate the image on the canvas. Double-click an image in the editor to open up the full task pane with image editing controls.

In this new editor, you now have access to a richer set of fonts, font colors and bullet and numbered lists—plus enhanced font editing and hyperlink dialogs. These are available on the ribbon menu on the top by using the familiar controls in the Message tab or using the menus for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes and Signatures.

Microsoft is planning to roll out this new editor in mid-May. If you are interested in trying it before that, you can sign up for Office Insiders program. Microsoft has also mentioned in the blog post that they will continue to add new features including the support for Tables.
