Microsoft to offer Windows Store developers new promotional tools to help sell their apps

We have already reported that Microsoft will be creating an affiliate program to help others promote Windows Phone apps, but it appears that Microsoft will soon also offer developers some new marketing tools so they can do it themselves directly.

At Microsoft DevCon 2015 Microsoft announced that Windows Store developers will soon be able to offer Promo Codes, which would allow them to offer promotional discounts to some websites for example or track the effectiveness of promotions via various channels.

Developers will also be able to offer discounts on apps or in-app purchases, which differ from Promo Codes in that users will not have to enter anything to apply the discount.

As marketing is often the biggest part of creating a successful app we are sure that these new features will be very welcomed.
