A deleted blog post from Rajesh Jha, who is the Corporate Vice President for Office Services and Servers at Microsoft has revealed that Microsoft is going to announce about its acquisition of mobile email startup Acompli. Acompli empowers professionals to do more and defer less from mobile email. If Microsoft acquires it, my guess is that it could become Outlook for mobile devices. Acompli already supports Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook email accounts. Currently it is available only for iOS and Android.
About Acompli team,
Acompli is a venture-backed startup headquartered in San Francisco whose team has a track record of building successful companies. We deliver world-class mobile email while respecting the need for IT to do its job. With the massive adoption of smartphones and apps in the workplace, Acompli is closing the gap between the old paradigm of desktop email and the untapped potential of what mobile email should be.
