Update: It appears that the wording was changed from Major Nelson’s post and now says “new Xbox One bundles and accessories” over in the post on Xbox Wire. It’s unclear whether this was changed for clarity due to people possibly misconstruing the original statement.

Original: Microsoft revealed that new Xbox hardware will be making an appearance at the Gamescom next month in Germany. Apart from the usual Xbox booth and the new title announcements, Xbox might be finally ready to announce new accessories for the console, teasing:

Tune in on Tuesday, August 21, at 4:30 p.m. CEST (7:30 a.m. PDT) for lots of news, all-new Xbox hardware and accessories, and features on upcoming titles that we can’t wait to tell you more about and perhaps even a few surprises!

It’s highly unlikely that Microsoft will announce a new Xbox console since it will be coming in 2020. However, Microsoft is working on a successor of the Xbox Elite Controller and the company might launch it during Gamescom. The new controller is rumoured to add more features while fixing the issues with the existing model.

Apart from that, Microsoft will have the annual Xbox FanFest on Thursday, August 23. The company will reveal more details about the tickets and activities soon. Also, the Gamescon will have the Xbox booth which will feature a fantastic line up of 25 games across a diverse range of genres. Microsoft will also have a Mixer booth this year with battle royale matches for the attendees. If you can’t attend it in person then you can follow Microsoft on various platforms for live updates. Microsoft will also stream the event live on xbox.comMixerTwitchYouTubeFacebook, and Twitter.
