Microsoft yesterday blogged about the HoloLens interaction model. There are basically three ways that you can interact with HoloLens. Using your gaze, gesture and voice. Gaze is the most natural one. At any time, HoloLens would know where your head is on and what you are looking at. This info helps the system to accurately decide what both gesture and voice should be targeting.
Three key elements to input on HoloLens:
- Gaze – What you’re looking at, and how you target
- Gesture – An “air-tap” gesture that HoloLens will recognize, and which allows you to drive selection
- Voice – Full access to the Windows 10 speech engine
