Microsoft Surface Revenue Increased 117% To $888 Million

Microsoft Surface was considered a flop after the first version of it failed in the market. Even after billion dollar write-off, Microsoft continued to pursue their goal with Surface business. Today, they reported their Q4 FY15 results and Surface revenue increased 117% to $888 million, driven by Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3 units sold. Yes, it is nearly a $3 billion dollar business for Microsoft and it is profitable too. Gross margin increased $417 million, and benefitted from the mix shift to Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3.
