Yesterday, Microsoft announced their thinnest and lightest Surface yet: the Surface 3. At only 8.77mm thin and 1.37 pounds, it has a 10.8-inch 1920×1280 display with a 3:2 aspect ratio just like the Surface Pro 3. It also has a kickstand just like all the Surfaces before it – with three pre-set positions. Pre-order started yesterday through Microsoft Stores, microsoftstore.com and select retailers, and it will be on sale beginning May 5 with availability in 26 markets by May 7.
Asia Pacific countries like Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and New Zealand will also get Surface 3 by May 7th. Pre-orders will start on April 2 for consumers in Australia, Singapore and New Zealand via Microsoft Store Online. For other markets, it will be sold through retail partners. Microsoft is yet to announce about the availability in China and Japan. Find the pricing details below.
