Microsoft Skype partners with Sify to allow local method payments for buying Skype Credits in India

Till now, Skype users in India could buy Skype credit or subscriptions only with International credit cards. Microsoft today announced their partnership with Sify allowing Skype users to buy their Skype credit or subscriptions from www.sify.com/skype using Indian Debit/Credit Cards and Net Banking.

“Together with Sify, we are making it easier for Skype users in India to purchase Skype credit and subscriptions. India is a key market for Skype and we want to help our users in India connect with friends and family abroad,” said Judd Harcombe, Head of Emerging Market Business Development at Skype.

Skype credit or subscriptions to make calls to Mobile & Landline numbers outside India. Skype offers some of the most competitive calling rates while calling abroad from India and this partnership will help Indian consumers access these offerings from Skype more easily. They can even use Skype Credit to connect to the internet using Skype WiFi at available public WiFi hotspots around the world during their international travel.
