Microsoft settles with Cellrderm about ‘Really?’ ad campaign

Back in July 2011 CellRDerm took Microsoft to court for stealing their “Really?” ad campaign idea.

At the time they said they sent Cease and Desist letters to Microsoft and its ad agency Crispin Porter + Boguskey as early as 20 January 2011 and were ignored by both.

CellRDerm makes gag gifts to give to people who appear obsessed with their phones, a theme of Microsoft’s ad campaign also.

The parties agreed to dismiss the suit this week following a mediation process that took place after the lawsuit was filed last July. The outcome of the mediation was not disclosed in the court filings.

I guess this frees Microsoft to restart the campaign for 2012 😉
