Microsoft says it can hold on to its OEMs while making 1st party Windows Phone hardware

With Microsoft set to become a Windows Phone OEM with the acquisition of Nokia’s handset division, it is widely believed that we will not be seeing many more new handsets from the other OEMs that Microsoft will now be competing with directly.
At today’s Financial Conference however Microsoft expressed the belief that they will continue to produce handsets from HTC, Samsung, Huawei and TCL Alcatel.
Of course just because Microsoft believes it does not necessarily make it true – these OEMs presumably have a pipeline of Windows Phone handsets in development which are close to market, but handsets slightly further out may very well be cancelled.
