Microsoft to reportedly introduce an updated Xbox One controller at E3

At E3, Microsoft is expected to introduce some exciting new updates for the Xbox One. Today, a new report revealed some of the things Microsoft is planning to announce at E3. According to the report, Microsoft will introduce an updated standard controller for the Xbox One which will apparently look similar to the current design, but it will come in a new color. Additionally, the report also claims that Microsoft will introduce some new updates for Xbox One and Windows 10, which is quite expected.

The new standard controller will look similar to the current design, which isn’t too surprising, but will likely come in a new color. Considering that Microsoft currently ships a black controller, a white default design seems like a decent mid-cycle refresh for the console to help spur sales.

In addition to an updated standard controller, the company is exploring new interactions between the PC and the Xbox One to further extend the capabilities already present between the two (game streaming). Seeing as Microsoft wants to make Windows 10 on the desktop and Xbox one a ‘killer combination’, they are looking to leverage the ecosystem to create unique experiences for games that are on other platforms too.

It will be interesting to see Microsoft reveals the Xbox Slim at E3, which has been rumored for a while now. At E3, Microsoft will also reveal more about the Anniversary Update for the Xbox One, which will also be very interesting as Microsoft is planning to introduce new features such as Cortana, a universal Windows Store, Universal Windows Apps, and much more with the Anniversary update.
