Microsoft releases new Windows 10 build, packs Cortana and more!


Microsoft introduced a handful of new features at its Windows 10 event. The company promised that a new build will be available for Windows Insiders next week. However, the awesome Windows team has just released the new build, 9926.

Build 9926 brings a lot of new features to Windows 10. First off is Cortana on desktop. Microsoft revealed that Cortana will indeed come to desktop at its event and you can finally use it. Cortana can set reminders, tell you jokes and it packs all the other functionalities that are available on the Windows Phone version. The latest build also comes with “Hey Cortana” which will let you open Cortana hands-free.

The latest build also brings Continuum. You can now expand the Start Screen to a full-screen. Microsoft has also made some UI tweaks and the start screen looks much better with the latest build. With the latest build, the Settings app replaces the Control Panel. Microsoft has also redesigned the Settings app with the latest update.

Build 9926 also comes with a re-designed action center, new photos and map apps and the Xbox app. Microsoft has also included a new app, Windows Store Beta which is the app store but with a much cleaner and beautiful design.
