Microsoft Releases Initial Preview Of Silverlight Bridge To Universal Windows Platform

Silverlight Bridge

Microsoft today announced the initial release of Mobilize.NET’s Silverlight bridge. This will help Windows Phone Silverlight app developers to bring their WP Silverlight 8.x apps to the Windows 10 Universal Windows Platform (UWP). Once developers convert their Silverlight apps to UWP, their apps can run  on a PC, phone, Xbox, HoloLens, or even a Raspberry Pi using single code base.

Moblize.NET bridge directly integrates into Visual Studio and currently maps the 700 most used APIs and handles transitioning your manifests, APIs, XAML, NuGet package references and async/await changes. More APIs and mappings will come in the future updates.
