Microsoft recruiting students to market Windows Phone 7 to Generation Y

From one student contest to another.  Microsoft may be running out of ideas to market Windows Phone 7, and has turned to the demographic who always believe they have all the answers.

Microsoft Protégé is a competition from Microsoft UK aimed at Undergraduate students primarily studying Business, Marketing and ICT. The purpose of Protégé is to provide students with a chance to work on a real-life business case study and submit a marketing plan to address the case study issue in question.

Students work in teams of up to 5, or as individuals, to market Windows Phone 7 to Generation Y. Microsoft will provide all students with the marketing brief, case study resources (on website) and access to the Microsoft community for advice and on-site information sessions as well as regular updates from the Protégé team through our Protégé YouTube Channel, this page and Protege twitter.

Students will be competing against other students within their University and across the UK. The final round of judging, including the Protégé Grand Final will take place in front of a panel of Microsoft managers at Microsoft HQ, Reading. Alongside a months PAID INTERNSHIP, the winners will also take home a brand new Windows Phone 7, with all finalists taking away some great Microsoft prizes.

If the ideas are compelling enough they may even turn into a real campaign.

The deadline for entry is today, April 1st 11.59pm.
