Microsoft promoting Windows family around Europe

Microsoft has continued its Windows family marketing push in Europe.

The latest in Sweden, after the official introduction of the OS in the country, is a free Xbox 360 (slim) with any Windows Phone 7 handset for more than 299kr a month.

The deal is available on the 3 carrier there, where the new generation of handsets seems not to have arrived yet, as they are still only selling the LG Optimus 7, Samsung Omnia 7 and HTC Trophy.

kinectstoreIn the Netherlands Microsoft has also opened a Kinect pop-up store where users can try out Kinect and also see a range of Windows Phones.

The store is in Kalverstraat in Amsterdam and is open 7 Days a week 13:00 to 18:00.

Microsoft’s new theme for the holiday season is the Windows family, touting how Windows desktop, phone and Xbox 360 + Kinect all work together harmoniously.  The campaign has just started, and still has a long way to go before it gains mindshare, but the ultimate goal would be for Windows users to naturally gravitate to a Windows Phone 7 handset, until the EU gets involved of course and force Microsoft to bundle Android handsets also 😉
