Microsoft promises iAd-style Windows Phone 7 ads in the future

iadswp7Microsoft’s mobile advertising agency went live recently, and released this FAQ, which should address most question prospective users have, including the region available (US only) and the software (Silverlight only).

Of note however is this one line:

Are ads on Windows Phone 7 going to be as cool as iAd on iPhone?
Our approach in the initial launch is to enable standard display banner and text ads on Windows Phone 7. We will follow this up with rich media capabilities (similar to iAd) in the future.

This appears to offer a clear roadmap for future ads which does more than just display text or banners, but offer a more interactive experience meant to engage application users even more.

How do our readers, who will be using these advertising supported applications feel about this? Let us know below.
