Microsoft Patent Application Reveals Even Better Way To Share Photos On Mobile Devices

We all know that Windows Phone platform has one of the fastest camera experience on smartphones since its release. The imaging experience in Windows Phones are further expanded by the inclusion of services like SkyDrive which allows us to automatically upload photos to the cloud without any effort. I came across an interesting patent application from Microsoft which will further improve the camera experience on Windows Phones. In simple words, the phone will automatically detect the person/place in the photo using which it will get the contact info associated with it and with your confirmation it will share the photo with the person/place.

Captured images are analyzed to identify portrayed individuals and/or scene elements therein. Upon user confirmation of one or more identified individuals and/or scene elements entity information is accessed to determine whether there are any available communication addresses, e.g., email addresses, SMS-based addresses, websites, etc., that correspond with or are otherwise linked to an identified individual or scene element in the current captured image. A current captured image can then be automatically transmitted, with no need for any other user effort, to those addresses located for an identified individual or scene element.

Remember, Nokia is working on bringing its revolutionary PureView technology to Windows Phone devices. I’m sure Microsoft Windows Phone team along with Nokia will make the “Window Phone the best camera you will ever own” as they described in their job post.

What’s your expectations from camera experience in next generation Windows Phone devices ??
