Microsoft Skype today announced a new marketing campaign developed in partnershp with Western Union. Along with every Western Union international money transfer, Microsoft will be offering free Skype Credits.

From now until April 1, 2015, Western Union customers sending money to loved ones abroad from a Western Union store will receive a voucher code for a $2 Skype Credit good for up to 60 minutes* of international calls to mobiles and landlines. With the help of Western Union, we’re looking forward celebrating the season by giving you the chance to learn grandma’s signature recipe, surprise friends with a holiday greeting and share your New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s how it works

Step 1:

Transfer money internationally at a Western Union store (find locations here). All transactions must be made in-store.

Step 2:

Find the Skype voucher code on your receipt.

Step 3:

Follow the steps on skype.com/wu to redeem your voucher code** for free Skype Credit toward international calls to mobiles and landlines.

Step 4:

Find more information on how to redeem your voucher code and terms of use here.
