Microsoft Not Giving Up On Xbox One In Japan Despite Very Poor Sales

Xbox One E3

Japan is one of the most challenging markets for Microsoft Xbox One. Due to the presence of home grown PlayStation 4, Microsoft is finding it very hard to compete with Sony. In fact, there were reports that Microsoft only sold few hundred consoles in a month. Recently appointed Microsoft Japan head Takuya Hirano was asked during a Q&A whether Xbox One is going to be pulled from the Japan market due to poor sales. He said Microsoft is not withdrawing from the market and expects Windows 10 to help boost Xbox One sales.

“We’re not withdrawing. Because of Windows 10, even the Xbox One has new features that we’ll try to appeal [to Japanese consumers] with. We want to have an even higher quality line up of titles than now.”
