Microsoft today introduces some new features for Office apps for iOS. The company also introduced Office Insider app for Mac today.

First up is the new inking capabilities for Office for iPad. With the latest update for Office for iPad, Microsoft is finally introducing the new inking capabilities which have been available in Office for Windows since 2007. Here are some of the inking features for Office for the iPad:

  • Draw tab—to make inking tools as easy to find as possible, beginning today we’re adding a newDraw tab at the top, in the Office ribbon.
  • Instant inking—we have evolved our apps to sense the approach of an active pen so that you can start to ink instantly, without needing to select a feature or control.
  • Ink to shape—you can easily transform hand-drawn shapes to perfect looking shapes for simple creation of highly customizable diagrams and process flows. Sketch two quick circles for an easy Venn diagram or draw a process flow of squares and arrows in just a matter of moments.

Alongside the new features for Office for iPad, Microsoft also introduced Office Insider builds for the Mac. Back in November, the company launched Office Insider for Windows 10, Windows, and Android. However, if you are a Mac user, you can now download the Office Insider builds for your Mac here. It is worth noting that Microsoft also launched an official Twitter account for Office Insider which you can follow here.

The latest updates for Office for iPad are not available yet, but Microsoft will be rolling these out soon.
