Microsoft has unveiled two new additions to its Surface lineup – the 12-inch Surface Pro and the 13-inch Surface Laptop. Both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus processors and are designed to offer AI-enhanced computing at more accessible price points. The Surface Pro starts at $799, while the Surface Laptop begins at $899.
The 12-inch Surface Pro features a 2196 x 1464 PixelSense touchscreen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. It boasts a fanless design, weighs 1.5 pounds, and includes two USB-C 3.2 ports, omitting the traditional Surface Connect port. The device supports Windows Hello facial recognition and offers up to 16 hours of video playback.

Microsoft’s 13-inch Surface Laptop comes with a 1920 x 1280 LCD touchscreen, the same RAM and storage configurations as the Surface Pro, and includes a USB-A port, two USB-C ports, and a headphone jack. It features a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello authentication. Microsoft claims up to 23 hours of video playback for this model.
Both devices are part of Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC initiative, integrating AI features such as Recall and Click to Do, which run locally on the device’s neural processing unit. Pre-orders are available now, with general availability starting May 20.
