Microsoft killing Azure Mobile Services in favour of Azure App Service

Microsoft yesterday announced that are transitioning from Azure Mobile Services to Azure App Service. Microsoft released Azure App Service Mobile Apps along with a one-click migration from Azure Mobile Services to Azure App Service Mobile Apps last year. Instead of duplicate features across multiple services, Microsoft has now decided to consolidate Azure Mobile Services with Azure App Service.

With the Mobile Apps feature of Azure App Service, it is easy to rapidly build engaging cross-platform and native apps for iOS, Android, Windows or Mac; store app data in the cloud or on-premises; authenticate users; send push notifications; or add your custom backend logic in C# or Node.js.

Microsoft will be migrating all customers who are running Azure Mobile Services to Azure App Service.
