Microsoft Expression Studio 4 support for Windows Phone 7 coming soon

Microsoft recently announced Expression Studio 4, their new tool for creating amazing looking user interfaces for applications, websites and devices.

This initial release did not support Windows Phone 7, which at the time seemed odd choice given the emphasis placed on its Silverlight based user interface.

At Internet Week Microsoft revealed that Windows Phone 7 support was in fact coming soon.

The tools for creating Windows Phone 7 apps in Expression 4 are still in private beta, but Microsoft plans to open up the software tools to public beta over the next few weeks, Dave Mendlen, Microsoft’s senior director, develop marketing, for Visual Studio, said in an interview at the Expression 4 launch.

Expression 4 comes in three flavours. The Web Professional edition includes Expression Design, Expression Encoder, and Expression Web (ultimately to come with SuperPreview). Studio 4 Premium adds Expression Blend. Studio 4 Ultimate adds Expression Blend with SketchFlow and replaces Expression Encoder with Express Encoder Pro.
