Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a new service called Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection that will help enterprises detect, investigate, and respond to advanced attacks on their networks. Today, they announced that they are expanding the preview program to a broader group of customers interested in testing and providing feedback. Now, they are providing access to the public preview to IT professionals and enterprise customers upon acceptance. If you are accepted for this program, you will get a chance to explore Windows Defender ATP service, simulate an attack on your endpoints and see how alerts and events are captured by the service.
Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection builds on existing security defenses Windows 10 offers today, and provides an additional post-breach layer of protection to the Windows 10 security stack. With a combination of client technology built into Windows 10 and a robust cloud service, it will help detect threats that have made it past other defenses, provide enterprises with information to investigate the breach across endpoints, and offer response recommendations.
