Microsoft Edge crashing on Windows 10 Build 14942? Here’s a workaround!

Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 14942 to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. The update introduced a couple of new features for the OS, as well as Microsoft Edge. As this is an Insider build, bugs are expected to be present in the build as usual. However, build 14942 apparently includes a pretty annoying bug which causes Microsoft Edge to crash. And if you are an Edge user, you’ll probably be disappointed by all the crashes. Thankfully though, Microsoft today provided a simple workaround for the issue which you can apply by following the steps below:

  • Close down Microsoft Edge
  • Open PowerShell
  • Run the following command: `Get-ChildItem ‘HKCU:\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Children’ | foreach {Remove-Item $_.pspath -Recurse}`
  • Restart Microsoft Edge and the issue should be fixed

If you were having the same issue, make sure to let us know if the above workaround helped.
