Last year, Microsoft revealed that they are bringing Windows Universal apps to Xbox. You can create one app on Visual Studio project, and use it across devices. At that time, Microsoft demoed Khan Academy app which is working with Microsoft for Xbox One app. The business logic, all the assets remain the same and the app just works across all the devices. At Windows 10 event in January earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 universal apps can run on Xbox One.
At MWC press event today, Microsoft demoed a universal app running on Xbox One for the first time. Microsoft’s technical lead for Windows universal apps, Kevin Gallo used a demo app to show Windows 10 universal apps on Xbox One. At BUILD developer conference in April, Microsoft will demo all the details on how to develop and publish apps for Xbox One.
