Microsoft announces new Speech Devices SDK and unified Speech service

Microsoft already has Cortana Devices SDK that allows OEMs and ODMs to create smart, personal devices. Anyone can use this SDK to include Cortana voice assistant in their devices. Today, during Build developer conference keynote, Microsoft announced a Speech Devices SDK that will offer superior audio processing from multi- channel sources for more accurate speech recognition, including noise cancellation, far- field voice and more.

This new Speech Devices SDK will allow developers to develop variety of voice-enabled scenarios like drive-thru ordering systems, in-car or in-home assistants, smart speakers, and other digital assistants.

Microsoft today also announced a unified Speech service that offers improved speech recognition, text-to-speech, supporting customized voice models and translation.
