Microsoft announces new improvements coming to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox app for PC

At gamescom 2019, Microsoft today announced several improvements coming to to Xbox Game Pass app and Xbox app for Windows PCs. These improvements will make it easy for gamers to find new games, manage their existing game collection, connect with other gamers and more. Read about the new features below.

  • Find Your Friends Across Networks: Microsoft has made it easier to find and start playing with friends with new account linking options. Earlier, you can add your friends via their Xbox gamertags. With this upcoming update, you can search for friends from Facebook or Steam who are also on Xbox. You can now link your accounts for YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Discord, and Reddit on your player card. This will allow your Xbox friends to follow your gaming adventures.
  • New Ways to Find and Filter Games:  In order to improve management of game collection in the new Xbox (Beta) app, Microsoft is announcing new filter options from the sidebar. This will allow you to find your favorite games and managing your DLC even easier.
  • More Control on Managing Downloads: When you download games from Xbox Store, Microsoft now displays the disk space required for each game. In addition to that, you can also  select the drive where you want your games installed.
  • PC Joins the Mobile App: The Xbox Game Pass mobile app now includes PC titles, this allows you to manage your Xbox Game Pass for PC library while on the go. You can browse and discover games in the Xbox Game Pass for PC library and download them to your PC. To use this feature, you need to download the Xbox Game Pass mobile app (Beta) available on iOS and Android.
