Last year, Microsoft announced Windows subscription program for enterprise customers. Businesses can get enterprise-grade security and management capabilities at just $7 a seat per month through the Cloud Solution Provider channel. Microsoft today announced that the customers of this Windows subscriptions program can now upgrade their Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs and devices to Windows 10 at no additional cost. For example, customers who subscribed to Windows 10 Enterprise E3 and E5 as well as Secure Productive Enterprise E3 and E5, can now upgrade their Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs and devices to Windows 10 without the need to purchase separate upgrade licenses.

This new offer will help customers who have yet to purchase a new Windows 10 device, or who missed out on the free upgrade to Windows 10 campaign. Another good thing about this program is that the Windows 10 upgrade licenses issued as part of this process are perpetual and associated with the device. So, the license will not expire or be revoked if the customer chooses to end their Windows cloud subscription in the CSP program.

The new upgrade benefits are rolling out now and admins with Windows subscriptions in CSP should see Windows 10 upgrade options and links in their Office 365 Admin center over the next 48 hours.
