Microsoft has announced the release of the Windows 10 SDK Preview Build 16190. The new SDK is being released in conjunction with Windows 10 Insider Preview (Build 16190 or greater) and brings under development changes to the API surface area and the usual bug fixes.
The Windows 10 SDK Preview Build introduce the following new controls: NavigationView, TreeView, RatingsControl, ColorPicker, ParallaxView and PersonPicture to the Windows.UI.XAML.Controls namespace. It also adds brushes for Acrylic and Reveal, part of the Fluent Design System. The new XAML Controls Gallery can be seen in the Windows Universal Samples collection.
According to Microsoft, the new Microsoft Fluent Design System will deliver “intuitive, harmonious, responsive and inclusive cross-device experiences and interactions” for users. As for developers, the Microsoft Fluent Design System will allow them to deliver engaging experiences that work across a wide range of devices with input diversity.
