Master Chief’s Voice Actor Hints At Delayed Halo Release For Xbox One

At E3 last year, Microsoft showed us a teaser for the upcoming Halo game for Xbox One. The teaser even revealed that the game will be coming in 2014. In an interview to Gamezone, Steve Downes, the voice actor for Halo’s main character Master Chief said that he don’t expect to see Halo 5 until 2015.

I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5 … I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.

IGN reached out to Steve Downes after this statement, he said to IGN that he didn’t actually intend to imply that he has knowledge of Halo 2 Anniversary.

“What I said was: ‘I think you’re ahead of yourself on H5. I have read some things on line that you can look forward to a H2 anniversary edition maybe this year, but I have no official information one way or the other,'” Downes told us. “I was just mentioning some of the things I had read online about Halo 2. I have no idea if there will be an anniversary edition and didn’t mean to leave that impression.”

IGN received the original email interview with Steve Downes from GameZone and confirmed that he did say Halo 5 is not coming this year. I guess Microsoft would have asked him to take back his statement. Are you looking forward to Halo this year?
