Marathon 2.8 starts handing out achievements for your workout


It might not be the real Xbox LIVE achievements, but it’ll still give you a new goal to aim for and yet another reason to put on your running shoes. The recent update will brings the GPS training app Marathon to version 2.8 which now award you with various achievements for your workout. Initially there’ll be 55 achievements; currently 6 of them have yet not been awarded to any user. They are divided into gold, silver and bronze, so even if you’re not an elite runner you should be able to grab some of them.

Furthermore the new version fixes a few bugs, adds an auto pause feature as well as voices for the announcements in Spanish, Dutch, Italian, French and Swedish.

Key features available in Marathon:
• Records speed, distance, calories consumed, climb/decline, etc.
• Shows charts of speed and altitude change.
• Draws your route on a map.
• Share your results to, Twitter and Facebook.
• Voice announcements with intervals based on either time or distance.
• Earn achievements for your training (Not related to Xbox LIVE achievements).
• Pause/resume recordings.
• Ability to cut your results at the start or end.
• Inexpensive alternative to GPS watch.
• Ability to backup and restore all results.
• Export to kml, gpx and csv.
