We know Microsoft’s content rules are pretty tough when it comes to SkyDrive uploads, so it comes as no surprise to hear another story of unthinking enforcement.
PC Beta reported that SkyDrive user qinmoon found his SkyDrive account blocked due breach of their code of conduct rules.
They did not specify exactly which rules he breached, but the only thing he had stored on SkyDrive besides his class notes was some some manga-style images and wallpapers.
He was only given 48 hours to appeal the closure of the account before his data was deleted, and even when he appealed he was turned down and lost all of his data, including some very important class materials.
The lesson of the story is of course to be very careful what is stored on your SkyDrive, less you lose something important when the enforcement hawks swoop down, and definitely do not use it for back-up.
