m.Aloud will read your webpages out loud, now with Cortana support

m.Aloud is a great Windows Phone app which has just been updated to version 2.0.

The app lets users listen to articles, news, blogs, web email, product reviews, wikipedia, etc. directly from your windows phone using the build-in browser.

Now supporting multiple languages! English, ???, Español, Deutsch, P??????, Français, Italiano, ???, ???, Portuguese, Polski, etc.

To use, simply tap on a paragraph and click play to start listening. Play, fast forward, pause and rewind between paragraphs so you have absolute control of how you listen to the web.

Save websites to your favourites so next time it’s easy for you to find them.

It now also sports Cortana integration, using the digital assistant to make voice searches.

Its biggest weakness is its decidedly non-windows phone user interface, but given the functionality that is forgivable.

imageAnother issue is that, while the app can share using the new share contracts on WP8.1, it is not a share target, making it more difficult than needed to transfer a page from IE11 Mobile to the built-in browser in m.Aloud.

The app is $1.99 with a free trial, but is also a universal app, meaning buying it on the phone will also purchase it on your PC.

Find it in the Windows Phone Store here.
