While Developer Preview users have been benefitting for some time from having the very latest versions of Windows Phone early, the same could not be said of Nokia/Microsoft Mobile’s latest firmware, with the Lumia Cyan update being blocked due to issues with Bitlocker.
Microsoft has however cautiously resumed rolling out the update some weeks ago, initially to only a few handsets on some carriers, but it seems now the floodgates have opened.
Greg Sullivan, Director at Windows Phone, has announced on twitter that the Lumia Cyan update is now rolling out to more than 100 Device/Carrier combinations, which fortunately included my Nokia Lumia 920 on Three UK.
Lumia Cyan brings camera improvements, Miracast to the Nokia Lumia 1520 and Icon, improved colour profiles and more.
Of course despite Lumia Cyan arriving, the update we are all salivating for is Lumia Denim, which brings much faster camera function to some devices, but such is the nature of life.
