Microsoft’s new flagship devices are now set to be widely available in the UK for pre-order, with mobile retailers from EE to Carphone Warehouse and now Unlocked Mobiles are now announcing intentions to sell the devices.
Unlocked Mobiles will be stocking both the smaller 5.2 inch 950 and the larger 950 XL in both black and white for launch in December.
The 950 will set you back approximately £480 and the larger, more powerful 950 XL will cost £530 (VAT included).
The Lumia 950 and 950 Xl are Microsoft’s Windows 10 mobile flagships, offering no compromise specs for once and the powerful Windows 10 mobile OS.
The 950 comes with a 5.2 inch 2K screen, hexacore processor, 20 MP triple LED camera lens and an Iris scanner, while the 950 XL has all that with a larger screen and the hexacore processor swapped out for a liquid cooled octacore processor. They both support continuum, a feature that allows you to use your Windows Phone as the hub of your mobile computing life, and they are both well designed devices.
They are Microsoft’s latest grab at relevancy in the smartphone market and in the UK at least, they have a fighting chance.
