Microsoft has launched their Windows 10 Mobile range in Turkey today.
The prices, which appear to be higher than elsewhere in the world (the Lumia 950 is $670 with tax in UK for example and the Lumia 550 $150) has made many Windows Phone fans in Turkey unhappy unfortunately but the release date is a further injury, as the devices are expected to hit shelves only in February 2016.
The two issues combined I suspect will result in a thriving grey market in Lumia 950 and 950 XL imports. On the plus side by the time the handsets arrive most of Windows 10’s kinks would have been worked out already and we will be running Redstore in the Insider builds.
Are our Turkish readers troubled by these prices, or is this par for the course for smartphones in Turkey? Let us know below.
