Logo redesign wins freelance designer Microsoft job

In Summer last year, freelance designer Andrew Kim received a lot of recognition on the internet after posting his take on Microsoft’s Windows 8 logos which the company had unveiled earlier that year.

It turned out that Microsoft were so impressed by Kim’s logos they gave him an official job in which he will be working specifically for a project in the company’s Xbox division. He will be starting later this summer. Kim said:

But when it came time to make my final decision, I wanted to work at a place I can really get excited about. Working at a company is like getting married, it becomes a fundamental part of your life. I want to work with awesome people on awesome projects that I can get excited about. If you’ve been watching Microsoft over the past year, it’s been exciting, regardless of what your ecosystem preference is.

Whilst no details on new projects were revealed and a previously announced collaboration with Microsoft is going to remain secret because Microsoft has acquired the project’s IP, he promised to make ‘his ‘greatest work ever’ while he’s there. We at Microsoft-news are excited to see what Andrew Kim comes up with next.
