Lenovo’s Smart Display with Google Assistant takes on the Amazon Echo Show

Lenovo is partnering with Google to bring an Amazon Echo Show competitor powered by Google Assistant to the market and your living room.

The Lenovo Smart Display features a similar retro styling as the Echo Show but a larger HD screen (in a choice of 8 or 10-inch size) which can actually display YouTube video, features video calling using Google Duo and of course the prerequisite support for music (with a 10-watt full-range speaker) and home automation from Nest and other OEMs.

The Smart Display can be used in both portrait and landscape mode and is available soft Grey or natural Bamboo colour. When not in use it can double as a digital picture frame from your Google Photos or other background picture sources.

The 8-inch Lenovo Smart Display starts at $199.99 and the 10-inch model starts at $249.99, with both expected to be available early this summer.
