The latest PayPal for Windows Phone update did not seem to bring too many changes, but for those down-under it was pretty important, as for the first time it brought support to Australian users.
Besides the normal functions however it also brought along PayPal Here support, according to 1800PocketPC.com.
The company has partnered with point of sale company ERPLY to allow one to buy goods in person at supporting stores. The feature crucially needs one to add a profile picture, so the merchant will recognize you when you attempt to pay.
Then when you wish to pay you check into the store and tell the merchant you want to pay via PayPal. He will then match you to the photo, and the funds will be instantly transferred from your PayPal account to the retailer’s account and you get an email with the proof of purchase.
The app of course remains free and can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.
