Compared to Q4 2012 Windows Phone has grown its percentage of smartphone ownership in USA from 2.9 to 3.0%, according to Comscore.

While the percentage gain may be small, over the same period the smartphone market grew from 125.9 million users to 136.7 million, adding 10.8 million users, meaning around 450,000 Windows Phone users were added in Q1 2013.

Over the same period Blackberry lost 950,000 users, Symbian 72,000 and Apple of course gained 7.2 million users while Google added 3.85 million users.

Windows Phone currently has around 4.1 million users in USA, but hopefully initiatives like the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 and the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 will mean we will see this number grow significantly.
