Latest changes in Windows Mobile 6.5.1 – build 23081

Windows Mobile 6.5 continues to evolve in the bowels of Microsoft, and the latest leaked version shows some significant improvements in bringing the appearance of the OS up to date.

Pocketnow has recorded the above video showing the changes in action.  Of note is the system wide changes in the scroll bar, check boxes and buttons, which should improve the appearance of older applications and make it easier for developers to create attractive new applications.

In addition the new contacts application acts as a pretty good show case for demonstrating  bringing all these improvements together.

Of course the question of when this update will hit the shelves remain, but Steve Ballmer recently promised rapid releases of the OS, so I expect probably much sooner than we expect.
