Kopin Golden-i – for the borg in you

Windows CE shows up in all kinds of odd location.  Above we have a video of the Kopin Golden-i recorded by www.cellphonetrek.com at CTIA recently.

The device is a head-mounted display powered by voice recognition and head tracking, and appears to run a pretty sophisticated software stack, with support for remote data retrieval using WIFI.

The technology is designed for use in industrial situations and I imagine it is rather optimistic to expect it to show up even in 3 years in consumer devices.

Read more about the technology on Microsoft’s embedded weblog here.
