Last night, Microsoft finally rolled out the October 2018 Update to the public after fixing a lot of bugs in the update. With the new update, Microsoft also rolled out a couple of cumulative updates for those who had installed the October 2018 update earlier.
Unfortunately, one of the cumulative updates were supposed to fix the notifications issue but was not able to fix it. Microsoft earlier acknowledged several bugs related to the task manager and notifications which were fixed with 19H1 builds but weren’t fixed for those on production build aka 1809.
With Windows now being a service, there will never be a final version of Windows as Microsoft will service it continuously but the company has been failing recently with the quality control of builds for both public and Windows Insiders. Microsoft did release a full fledged blog post yesterday detailing the changes they made after the October 2018 Update fiasco. Since we can’t see the effects of these changes instantly, only time will tell if these measures will help Microsoft prevent a catastrophe in the future.
