In a surprise announcement today at Build 2017, Microsoft revealed that Apple’s iTunes would be making its way to the Windows Store soon.
Aside from Google’s Chrome, iTunes is one of the major desktop apps people often install on new PCs owing to the popularity of Apple’s smartphone – the iPhone. In addition to this, iTunes is the only portal onWindows that Apple users can access purchased content from the music and movie stores on iOS and Mac OS.
More importantly, with the impending release of big apps like Spotify and iTunes for Windows 10, Windows 10 S and the Surface Laptop just picked up increased validity and relevance. This is a big win for the Windows Store, and Microsoft knows it.
