International Business Times on Microsoft’s mobile future

International Business Times – the sixth most read business news site in the world – has posted a thorough, critical but overall encouraging assessment of Microsoft’s future in the mobile and consumer world, based on an interview with Jefferies & Co analyst Katherine Egbert.

The overall picture is an optimistic one, taking note of Microsoft’s past innovations in the mobile market, and comments on claims the possible Microsoft-Nokia collaboration that currently has the rumour mill turning…

Egbert said Microsoft’s management did not confirm or deny the recent chatter about Nokia Corp. (NOK) supporting Windows phones, although many investors seemed supportive of such a relationship.

…though the description of Nokia as Swedish may cast some doubt on Egbert’s knowledge of the mobile world.
