Intel today revealed that its 8th Gen Intel Core desktop processors will be available from Oct. 5, 2017. For the first time, Intel will be selling first-ever 6-core Intel Core i5 desktop processor and first-ever 4-core Intel Core i3 desktop processor.
Along with the regular processors, Intel will also be selling unlocked “K” processors targeting power users. These Intel processors will support up to 40 platform PCIe 3.0 lanes for expandability on graphics, storage and I/O. And they are supported with new Intel Z370 chipset-based motherboards.
Intel claims that 8th gen dekstop processors will offer up to 25 percent more frames per second on popular games when compared with 7th Gen Intel Core processors. And editing 4K 360-degree videos will be up to 32 percent faster compared with the previous generation.
